Being brave enough to acknowledge that you can't find the answers right now is a great place to start finding them.
I allow people to be truly heard in their struggle. In doing this, people are then able to make sense and meaning of their lives and discover what is truely holding them back from living a values congruent life.
I help people transform using a variety of techniques including:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Emotionally Focused Therapy
Gottman Method Relationship Therapy.
I also provide education around grief, loss, addiction, adolescence, life-transitions, brain function, childhood development and attachment, trauma, anxiety and depression.
Most importantly, the relationship you have with me, and your willingness to change, will help you find the answers you need.
I am passionate about assisting people to fulfil their true potential and live a meaningful life.
My lived experience of making sustainable and fulfilling transitions after traumatic life events, spurs me to do this work. I have a strong belief that nobody should suffer in their thoughts and relationships, which prevent them from living a wholehearted connected life.
I bring together my skills in counselling and coaching with bush-camping and outdoor education because I have many years of experience witnessing their combined power to transform lives.
I have a degree in Psychology, Diplomas in Counselling, and Outdoor Recreation.
I am a registered Clinical Supervisor and Australian Counselling Association (ACA) Counsellor. Additional qualifications are in Drug and Alcohol Counselling, Youth Mental Health, Team Management Systems, Rites of Passage, Child Safe Environments, RAN, Drumbeat, Adventure Therapy, Family Group Conferencing and Restorative Practice.
I have used these qualifications to counsel individuals and groups, and to design and facilitate personal development programs in remote wilderness settings locally & internationally. My counselling experience has been with teenagers and adults with anxiety, grief, addictions, suicidal ideation, domestic violence, relationship breakdown and emotional disconnection. I have worked with large corporate organisations and social enterprises to develop strong teams and individual coaching on excelling in one’s passion and skill. I have worked with some of our countries most vulnerable young people to develop hope and confidence.
